TRURO, N.S.

A local athletics-training centre is moving to a new, larger location in October.

Crossfit Hubtown is saying goodbye to its old stomping grounds on Parkway Drive, for a larger facility on Lower Truro Road.

e move will give them more space to use for their athletic programs, and will give athletes more opportunities to train.

“The new space is going to allow us to o er two programs at once for these athletes: cross t and Olympic weightlifting,” said Amanda ompson, owner and operator of Cross t Hubtown.

“We’re looking to expand our Olympic weightlifting program, but the space we currently have doesn’t really allow for any growth with the continual growth of our cross t program.”

e larger space will also allow them to improve on facilities for athletes, such as installing extra bathrooms and showers, and will also increase the size of their designated children’s area.

“We are going to be able to incorporate a larger area for our member’s children who come with them to watch them work out,” said ompson.

“Right now, they are kind of isolated to the one piece of furniture, so the move will allow them to have a larger space to hang out.”

eir plans are to move during the anksgiving long weekend to avoid any kind of operation disruptions, and they plan to reopen at the new location the following Tuesday.

e new location will be next to the Cobequid Spartan gymnastics facility, and is located at unit 23 on Lower Truro Road.
