MACKINNON, Donald Dennis “Donnie” – 73, Belmont, passed away peacefully, with loving family at his side, on Wednesday morning, Nov. 15, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Allen and Frances (Roode) Mackinnon. He worked at Stanfield’s for many years, enjoyed fishing and working outside.

Donnie is survived by his brother, Bill “Pink” (Val) Mackinnon, Belmont; nieces, Lisa (Kevin) Macnutt, Truro; Krista ( Greg) Marsh, Masstown; Tonda (Wade), Shortts Lake; Kenda (Brad), Ottawa; nephews, Wade Murray (Rhona Gomez-murray), Bobby (Cara) Murray, Garth Murray, Masstown; Jeff ( Theresa) Mackinnon, Marc, Shubenacad­ie; Stephen, Truro; great nieces and great nephews, Cole Macnutt, Allyson Macnutt, Annalise Macnutt, Tyler Murray, Ryan Murray, Matthew Murray, Beth Murray, Jillian Mackinnon, Emily Mackinnon, Delia Mackinnon, Natalie Mackinnon, Jack Mackinnon, Kayla Ericsson, Sara Ericsson, Zachary St. Amour; sister-in-law, Jill Higgins; several cousins. Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his wife, Marlene Louise (Higgins) Mackinnon.

All are welcome to attend a graveside interment service that will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Belmont Cemetery (just past civic number 862 Belmont Road), Belmont, Reverend Glenn Maclean officiatin­g.
