-

A Truro group of cheerleaders strutted their stu over the weekend and came away with top honours at the provincial meet at the RECC.

The Truro Twisters entered provincials on a roll and that’s how they finished.

The Truro All-star Cheer and Tumble squad laid claim to the province’s Small Senior Level 3 Division title during the weekend at the Cheer Nova Scotia Provincials at RECC.

The team also picked up a specialty award for the event’s best stunts.

More than 90 teams from clubs across Nova Scotia competed at the two-day event, which wraps up the competition season.

Twisters came into the event after dominating their last outing at Maritime Meltdown in early March when they won their division and claimed the grand champion award for the event’s top scoring routine overall.

Truro’s other three entries all finished on the podium at provincials.

Truro Reign finished second in the Small Senior 1 Division while Truro Chill and Heatwave each nabbed third-place finishes.

Although the competition schedule is finished, Truro’s

teams will continue to train throughout the summer before

starting to prepare in the fall for next season’s events. The compe-

tition season typically runs from January until April.
