MACDONALD, Robert Blaise – 60, of Truro. It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the sudden passing of Robert Blaise Macdonald on June 2, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Born in Antigonish on June 22, 1957, he was the only son of Christina (Mckeough) and the late Robert “Bob” MacDonald.

Blaise grew up in Linwood where he graduated from Antigonish East

High School. He worked at Crossley Carpet Mills Limited for 25 years and most recently found his work family at TDR Transporta­tion and Logistics. He was an avid music lover and a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and liked nothing better than watching the game with his son, Nathan. A loving father, son, brother and friend, he was always upbeat despite a 32-year battle with lupus and found it impossible to say ‘no’ to anyone.

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Christina Macdonald (Julien Wickstrom), Ottawa; sisters, Mary Maceachern, Linwood; Maureen Mac- Donald, Halifax; Margaret Maceachern, Stellarton; Bonnie Pilkington, Dartmouth; former wife, Ruth McCabe, Truro. He was predecease­d by his treasured son, Nathan; brother-inlaw, Ron. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Havre Boucher, Father Allan Macphie officiatin­g. Reception will follow. Burial in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the love and support of the ICU staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre during Blaise’s final hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Society of Nova Scotia or Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
