Tide captures provincial U15 crown

e Great Village Tide enjoyed a dominant run to a provincial U15 bantam A Tier 3 baseball title.

e Tide posted a record of 5-0 and blanked the Windsor Knights 5-0 in the championship game at the Nova Scotia championship tournament which was played at the Doug Peppard Memorial Ball Field in Great Village.

A brilliant pitching performance by Brayden Schmitt in the nal lifted the Tide to victory. O ense was supplied by the Tide’s leado hitter, Tim Porter, who went 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Cam Myatt laid down a perfect bunt in the third inning to fool the Knights’ defense and start a four-run rally. Defensively, the Tide played an error-free game. In a semi nal, the Tide thumped New Waterford 11-2 on the strong arm of Kohl Lockhart. Zach Dykstra went 3-for-3 and Michael Peters added two hits.

In round-robin play, the Tide opened with a 16-2 drubbing of the Westville Miners in ve innings. ey followed with a convincing 18-6 triumph over the Antigonish Angels. Schmitt and Colby Spencer each went 3-for-3 at the plate and Aiden Hennigar had a pair of hits.

Game 3 saw the Tide dismantle the New Waterford Dodgers 9-3. Bryan Spence went 2-for-3, while Keegan Macumber collected two hits and a walk.

e Tide expressed its gratitude to sponsor Masstown Hardware. The Great Village Tide rolled to a 5-0 record to win gold at the Nova Scotia U15 bantam A Tier 3 championship.
