Oat ‘n’ Honey Granola Bars

Ingredient­s:

2½ cups 625 ml

Oats, quick cooking

½ cup 125 ml

Flaxseed, ground

½ cup 125 ml Coconut, sweetened

1 tsp 5 ml Cinnamon

¼ cup 60 ml Margarine, non-hydrogenat­ed 1 large Egg, lightly beaten

½ cup 125 ml

Honey

¼ cup 60 ml Applesauce, unsweetene­d ½ cup 125 ml Chocolate chips

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8” x 8” baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

• Combine oats, ax, coconut and cinnamon. Use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut margarine into smaller pieces in dry mixture.

• Stir in egg, honey, applesauce and chocolate chips. Mix well and press into baking pan. Bake for about 20-25 minutes.

• Cool and cut into bars.

Tip: Wrap each bar with plastic wrap and freeze for school lunches.
