Remembranc­e Day racing action is Sunday at 1 p.m.

ere are eight dashes of entertaini­ng harness racing action on tap Sunday with a 1 p.m. post time. Qualifying sessions are scheduled for 11:45 a.m.

Due to last weekend’s inclement weather, the 2018 Hot Horse and Cool Driver presentati­ons by Clarence Farm Services were reschedule­d to this Sunday.

Pam Mackenzie, Purina certi ed equine consultant, will be on hand for the winners’ circle presentati­ons.

Who’s hot

One of Truro Raceway’s most popular teamsters, Darren Crowe, sits atop the leader board for drivers carrying a current total of 44 for 2018.

Crowe was on a tear last Sunday logging a natural hat trick in Races 2, 3 and 4 with Badlandia (Paula White); Silver Hill King (Dawn Ellis ); and Catch Twenty Two (William Shearer, Robert Siteman and Charles Piper Jr) as well as posting a single in the sixth with fan favourite, Montreal Phil (Dawn Ellis and Je Ellis).

Connection­s, Andrea Rennison and Ryder Matthews Rennison, lead the way for the “winningest” owners at the Raceway. With 113 starts in the books accumulati­ng 27 wins, 17 seconds and 17 thirds for total purse earnings of $28,345, the stock out of the Rennison Camp are indicating they are t, happy and up to the challenges.

Top trainer, year to date, according to Standardbr­ed Canada Universal Trainers Rating System, is George Rennison with 128 starts, 32 wins, 17 seconds and 18 thirds with a bank account of $32,052.

Rennison shows winning 25 per cent of his training starts. Second is Darren Crowe with 83 starts, $30,732 in purse earnings and winning 31.3 per cent of his races, where listed the trainer of record.

Fresh stock

Local horseman, Kurt Harper and his daughter, Bria, have recently added fresh stock to their stable purchasing an eight-yearold son of Four Starzz Shark, Stars Above, out of the Gregory Weatherbee string, Charlottet­own. The eight-year-old pacer shows a life’s best of 150.2 over Harrahs Philadelph­ia and total career earnings of $168,233.
