Truro players competing in Ice Jam tournament

ree members of the Fundy Thunder have been named to the Nova Scotia minor midget AAA Selects all-star team for this week’s East Coast Ice Jam tournament in Bedford.

Captain Noah Harrison, Jacob Bolger and Kyran Burton are members of the Selects for the tournament, which got under way on Jan. 9 and wraps up Jan. 13 at the BMO Centre.

Burton is an affiliate player for the Selects.

The minor midget all- stars are competing in the major midget division of the tournament.

Harrison, a forward, leads the Thunder in scoring with 16 goals and 13 assists in 22 games, while Bolger, a defenceman, has a goal and eight assists in 20 games with the Thunder this season.

Burton, a centre, is fth in team scoring with six goals and four assists in 20 games.

The Selects opened the tournament on Wednesday against the Western Kings.

Thunder forward Calem McAndrew is also competing in the tournament as a member of the Pictou County Weeks major midget club.

Meanwhile, the Truro Bearcats will play in the major bantam division.

The Bearcats, who sit in third place in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League with a record of 14- 9- 0- 0, opened the tournament against the Tri-pen Ice from Newfoundla­nd on Jan. 9.
