Age 88, Truro, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, January 5, 2019, at Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Viola (Lawless) Lockhart. Anne was a member of St. James Presbyteri­an Church,

Truro, and she worked at Lewis Hat & Cap Factory, Speedy Propane and then owned and operated Lyman Street Grocery. Anne is survived by her children, Susan (Aubrey) Ryan, Belinda (Blaine) Geddes, Truro; Gregory (Cathy), Hart Lake; Joanne Newell, Toronto; six grandchild­ren; nine great grandchild­ren; sister, Joan Campbell, California; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Alonzo Lester “Lonnie” Murray; sister, Betty Jean Harb. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Anne’s family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, and funeral service 2 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, Reverend Dr. David Sutherland officiatin­g. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. In lieu of owers, donations in Anne’s memory to St. James Presbyteri­an Church, Colchester SPCA or Truro Homeless Outreach Society (THOS) are welcomed.
