Audas, Elizabeth (Beth), Truro, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a lengthy illness. Born in Truro, NS March 27, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Eileen (Fielding) Richards and the late Wilfred Richards. Family meant the world to Beth. Growing up, Beth shared a special bond with her mother Eileen and sister Sharon. Her mother adored the two girls and they all had fond memories working at the Sugar Bowl on Inglis Street when the girls were in high school. After graduating at age 16 from Colchester County Academy, Beth received her Diploma from Success Business College and started her career at the Royal Bank of Canada in Truro. The family moved to New Glasgow and Beth enjoyed a lengthy career at Trenton Works, initially as an administrative assistant to several managers and later as the executive assistant to the CEO. Beth also volunteered her time with the Cancer Society, Kids Helpline and the Trinity United Church in New Glasgow, teaching Sunday school when her kids were young. Beth had a natural flair when it came to cooking, entertaining, decorating and gardening, spending many hours enjoying her gardens. She had a wonderful flair for style and was always showing off her latest ‘ find’ from Frenchie’s or a consignment shop. Beth also enjoyed cross country skiing and spent many weekends skiing at Trenton Park or the Abercrombie Golf course. She loved nature and had a special place in her heart for the elderly and children. Animals were very dear to her and she enjoyed spending time with Patriska, Jenny and Abby. Her children will cherish many wonderful and happy times growing up; summers at the beach, winter weekends skiing and our annual May long weekend trek to PEI. She is survived by her loving children, son Sean (Lorelei) Audas, Bedford; daughter Jennifer Audas, Halifax; grandchildren Matthew and Ashley Audas, Bedford; cherished sister Sharon (Lloyd) Smith, Kelvin Grove PEI and their daughters Shannon, Kirsh and Vanessa all of PEI; her first husband Charles (Bud) Audas. She was predeceased by her second husband, Pierre Poidevin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. As per Beth’s wishes there will not be a visitation or funeral and only a small celebration of life for family and friends will occur. If so desired, donations in Beth’s memory to the Colchester SPCA or a charity of choice are welcomed. Sean, Jennifer and family would like to add a special Thank You to Mom’s loving and lifelong friend Judy Fraser. She has been an angel for Mom and tremendous support to us all.
