Most Wanted opening new shop in downtown Truro
TRURO, N. S. – Most Wanted Jewelry and Pawn is preparing to open a new location in Truro next month selling electronics, video games and jewelry.
The store at 515 Prince St., formerly the location for Bubba Ray’s Sports Bar, will employ six to eight people, most of them full time, bringing Most Wanted’s workforce up to more than 50 people at five locations in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
“It’s one of our main priorities as a company, to increase our workforce,” said store manager Kai Weiler. “People feel excited to help the company grow and it’s very much a team environment.”
No firm opening date is confirmed, but renovation work continues.
Once open, the store will offer a range of both new and used cellphones, tablets and laptops, alongside jewelry products and musical instruments.
Unlike other second-hand shops, Most Wanted will offer services such as warranties to customers, and financing options for more expensive items such as guitars and amps. Gift cards will also be available.
Weiler described the company’s upcoming Truro store location as “smack dab in the middle of the other ones.”
“Truro’s a really great central hub, it will help us service the town itself and a lot of the surrounding communities,” said Weiler.
Most Wanted already has stores in Dartmouth, Bridgewater, Charlottetown and Summerside, all of which can be supported more easily from Most Wanted Pawn’s new Truro outlet.
“We do plan to keep expanding,” said Weiler. “I can’t divulge all our secrets, but we do have plans for a couple of more stores in the next two years.”
Most Wanted started in 2008 with online sales and opened their first store on May 12 the following year in Charlottetown.
Weiler will be running their newest store with business partner Chaylon Brewster.
All Most Wanted stores are typically open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays. Their Sunday opening hours are noon to 6 p.m.
