Archer for the People’s Party
Bill Archer to represent fledgling party in upcoming federal election
AMHERST, N. S. – One of Canada’s newest political parties has a Cumberland- Colchester candidate standing for the October federal election.
Bill Archer, an Amherst industrial electrician, has announced he will represent the People’s Party of Canada. The party was founded in September 2018 by former Progressive Conservative MP Maxime Bernier on the principles of personal responsibility, individual freedom, respect and fairness.
Elections Canada formally recognized the Cumberland-Colchester PPC Association and Archer was selected by acclamation. A married father of three and grandfather of one, Archer ran in the last provincial election in 2017.
He feels running provincially for the Atlantica Party in Cumberland South gave him valuable experience that will help him run in the upcoming federal campaign.
He has also operated his own successful international business in the past.
Archer has been worked alongside many different cultures and people and believes that everyone should be treated equally and fairly.
He decided to accept the role of candidate for the PPC because he sees no other choice in October. He feels indications the Green Party and NDP could form an alliance to keep the Conservative party from taking power as a signal that voting for those parties will not change what is currently happening in Ottawa.
He said the PPC is the only party standing up and presenting new ways of tackling issues of today, and Bernier has been consistent with his message of positive change, including the shrinking of government.
Archer said the message of the People’s Party of Canada represents the opinions of many Canadians, who feel the traditional parties have ignored them.
The people of Canada, he said, are ready for new ideas instead of pandering to the special interest groups.
