We are committed to:
• Increasing child benefits, investing in new parents and before-and-after school care which help families and lift people out of poverty.
• Working with the provinces to improve healthcare and provide more family doctors.
• Increasing health transfers by 4% each year with an extra $138 million per year in NS for Mental Health & Home Care.
• Provide tax breaks for the middle class & aid for those struggling to join it while supporting businesses, entrepreneurs & the creative economy, with investments in green jobs, energy and technology.
• Reduce the retirement age from 67 to 65 and introduce the largest increase for the CPP & GIS for seniors.
The time for action on climate change is now! A re-elected Liberal government is
committed to taking action by banning harmful single-use plastics and micro beads, protecting Canada’s oceans, air, and water, and exceeding Canada’s 2030 emissions goal by:
• Phasing out coal power by 2030 and investing in renewables like wind and solar.
• Building 1,200 public transit projects across the country.
• Make zero-emission vehicles more accessible and affordable.
• Investing in energy efficiency to help families and businesses save money.
• Setting legally-binding, five-year milestones to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, appointing a group of scientists, economists, and experts to recommend the best path to net-zero.
• Introducing a Just Transition Act to ensure energy workers and communities are given access to training, support, and new opportunities to succeed in the future economy of the 21st century as we transition green energy
