MINOR FOOTBALL Truro teams continue success

TRURO, N.S. – It was another solid weekend of action on the gridiron for teams from the Truro Minor Football Associatio­n.

The Truro Tide atom squad rolled to a 20-0 win over the Shouth Shore Seahawks, while the bantam Freightlin­ers blanked Cape Breton Panthers 23-0 and the peewee Bombers settled for a 14-14 tie with the Timberlea Titans.

ATOM Truro 20, South Shore 0

The Truro defence was led by Riker Durning, who played sideline to sideline and picked up 10 solo tackles. Warren Julien

and Liam Cornett also had strong games and combined for five sacks.

The offence was led by quarterbac­k Mikael Fields, who threw for 95 yards and completed a touchdown pass to Brody Gil. The Tide also punched in two rushing TDS by Daesean Brown-drummond.

The Tide are looking to finish out the season with a victory against Timberlea on Nov. 2 at C.P. Allen field at 11 a.m.

PEEWEE Truro 14, Timberlea 14

The Bombers played an great team game, but gave up a late touchdown that allowed Timberlea to salvage the tie.

Truro was led by Parker

Davidson, Cohen Mingo, Brayden Doran and player of the game Simon Labelle.

Next up for the Bombers is an away rematch with the Titans at C.P. Allen field on Nov 2. Kick-off slated for 1 p.m.

BANTAM Truro 23, Cape Breton 0 Offensive contributi­ons came

from player of the game Eric Fields, with major scores by Johnathan Seeton and Liam Legge.

The defence posted another shutout, led by player of the game Caleb Wolthers.

The Freights play their final regular season game next Nov. 2 against Timberlea at CPA at 3 p.m.
