Familiar foods coming back to The Pond
Pizza and other favourites will be back on the menu at their new location
BIBLE HILL, N.S. – People with a hankering for food they once enjoyed at The Pond will soon be able to satisfy their taste buds.
Work is being done on the pub’s new Pictou Road location.
“It’ll be basically the same as before, but in a different location,” said Arden (Mimi) Woods, who bought the business from Abdul Rafih when its former location was sold to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.
“I bought The Engine Room about a year and a half ago and when the opportunity came up on The Pond, I was interested right away. I love the history of it and wanted to keep it in Bible Hill.”
She began renovating space, most recently occupied by UFO (Upham Family Outlet). Although the interior is smaller than the previous location, it will look familiar
“This is all a little hard on the nerves but I’m excited to see the patrons that used to go to The Pond come in. I’m hearing from a lot of people who seem quite excited about it.”

to many patrons because the same furniture will be there. Woods is adding her own touches, too.
Kitchen equipment has been moved to the new site, and renovations are currently being done in that area.
“Abdul has been great and will be there to help me when it opens,” said Woods. “This is all a little hard on the nerves but I’m excited to see the patrons that used to go to The Pond come in. I’m hearing from a lot of people who seem quite excited about it. I especially hear a lot of people saying they can’t wait to have Pond pizza again.”
The main restaurant and pizza service will be combined in the new location.
Some signage has already been placed in front of the building and Woods hopes to be able to open in March.
