A WORLD IN CRISIS

-

We are constantly made aware of the horrific, inhumane and powerful nations bullying millions of people in Ukraine.

As a child during the Second World War, and the constant evils of the likes of Vladimir Putin tells us, the world population is constantly threatened with the willingness of some leaders and millions of their followers who are always readying to destroy our lives. The cruelty we experience has existed for all the centuries thus far and with the constant increase in the unbelievable sophistication of weapons, we are at the mercy of those who take charge and destroy.

So, here we are in the middle of another crisis and children, by the thousands, are crossing borders into friendly nations and families broken up as many fathers stay home and fight off the Russians.

Where do we go from here? One may be assured that the human race will not stop the horrific and unbelievable cruelty. I hear people complain, "I am sick of listening to broadcasts and other news outlets about Ukrainians.” Open your minds and be fortunate that you live in Canada.

Yes, prices are increasing, as anywhere else in the world, but at least we have food, shelter and our loved ones are not too far way, in most cases, except of course the hundreds of Indigenous children whose graves were discovered. The children were torn away from their families by the Roman Catholic Church and the government to "take the Indian out of them."

Canada has offered thousands of Ukrainians to come here and begin a new future. My parents knew what to do and took their four sons to this wonderful country. We have an obligation to take care of our brothers and sisters, regardless of background. Canada has opened its doors and many of our citizens will open their arms and lay out the welcome mat. Please keep in mind that no nation is safe. Meanwhile, enjoy life and share that enjoyment with those in need.

Thank you, Canada.
