“It’s great to have such an accessible location. We’re more visible, and people have been dropping in as they walk past, which is great to see,” he says.
With a grand opening soon to be set, Bakes’ pharmacy team has been lining the shelves with health-focused products that support Medicine Shoppe’s motto, that your health is their priority.
“Our focus is clear, and it shows both in our products and through the conversations we have with our clientele,” says Bakes. “We talk with them about their needs, and often become an educator too, walking them through new medications and on how to navigate different factors.”
Bakes says his team focuses on primary prevention, as they address their clienteles’ health concerns fully, on their first visit to the pharmacy. This also extends to their focus on mental health, including through the Bloom program they offer.
“The Bloom program is an important part of what we do. Through it, we help people navigate the health-care system and access mental health services. The wait can be long, and this is helping with that,” says Bakes. “People can self-refer, be referred by a family member, or by a doctor. And when they do, we act as that navigator and direct them towards services to help.”
The pharmacy’s list of services also includes synchronized medications via the Time My Meds program, the Medicine Shoppe App to connect you with online resources, and vaccine programs happening now, for both COVID-19 and flu shots.
