Halifax man facing 40 counts of failing to comply with recognizan­ce

A Halifax man has pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal harassment and 40 counts of failing to comply with conditions of his recognizan­ce by contacting two women.

not guilty to all charges on March 17. He consented to being remanded in custody until his trial on April 2.

It’s alleged that Morgan committed the offences in Greenwood between Feb. 15 and March 5. The 40 counts of failing to comply with his recognizan­ce stem from Morgan allegedly contacting two women he was to have no direct or indirect communicat­ion with by text message, email, voice mail and other electronic means.

Probation, fine for assaulting police officer

Sarah Mary Rheaume, 20, of Morristown, has been sentenced to probation and fined for assaulting a police officer engaged in the execution of his duty.

Rheaume pleaded guilty to the charge on March 23. Judge Claudine MacDonald sentenced Rheaume to six months of probation and fined her $195.

Rheaume committed the New Minas on Dec. 21, 2014.
