Brooklyn man sentenced for cocaine offence
A Hants County man will serve a suspended sentence for possessing cocaine.
Nicholas Peter Northrup, 32, appeared in Windsor provincial court June 2 for trial on one charge of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The Brooklyn resident was found not guilty of the initial trafficking charge, but guilty of a lesser charge of possession.
Northrup was ordered to complete a suspended sentence with 18 months of probation, and handed a $200 fine.
The offence dates back to Feb. 10, 2016 in Newport.
