Canada’s Great Nation

Valley Journal Advertiser - - COMMUNITY - BY ROBERTA VERGE

From ocean to ocean and land in between,

We thank you, veterans, for keeping us free.

You fought for our freedom, your names etched in stone,

At Vimy Ridge, thousands of miles from your home.

With worldly conflicts that could not be ignored,

You fought to keep the wars away from our shores.

We honour you, veterans, you gave your lives,

For us to enjoy comforts only you could provide.

We salute those who still are with us today,

For keeping forces at bay. the enemy

It’s time to honour our veterans for being first rate,

They give this country reason to celebrate.

Our troops are in a foreign land as I speak,

Making a difference to bring world peace.

Our borders are open to give a new start

To people whose homeland was torn apart.

From foreign lands we welcome those in need

To practice diversity as they succeed.

Our First Nations people, play their drums with dignity,

Asking for respect to their cultural integrity.

Our young athletes lift the torch on high,

Competing for medal and bringing us pride.

Ocean to ocean and land in between,

Thank you, Canadians, for preserving our esteem.
