ARCHIBALD, Lovena “Grace”, Age 96, of Wind­sor, passed away peace­fully in the R.E.A.L. Res­i­dence Care Home, Wind­sor. Born on March 12, 1922 in Truro, she was a daugh­ter, and the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of a fam­ily of six chil­dren, of the late Ernest B. and Bessie G. (Reid) MacEl­mon.

Grace was an ac­tive mem­ber of what used to be Trin­ity United and is now Wind­sor United Church. She was Past Pres­i­dent of Wind­sor Curl­ing Club,

Past Sec­re­tary of Wind­sor Ladies Golf Club and Past Noble Grand of Re­bekah Lodge No. 59. She en­joyed knit­ting, quilt­ing, crafts, cards, cross­words and do­ing the Lex­i­con in the weekly Her­ald. She also en­joyed trav­el­ling and es­pe­cially loved her win­ter trips to Florida and spend­ing her sum­mers at the cot­tage. Grace is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Dar­lene Moore; grand­sons, Ron (Vicki), Ja­son (Lori) and Adrian (Inez); great-grand­chil­dren, Brid­get, Amy, Parker, Amelia, Ed­ward and Dolores;

en­joy­ing tea with her friends. Ruth was an amaz­ing mother, grand­mother and great-grand­mother and she loved her fam­ily. She is sur­vived by her son, Paul (Mar­i­lyn); grand­chil­dren, Judy Anne (Marc) DesRoches and Ralph “R.J.” (Mar­i­lyn) Red­den; great-grand­chil­dren, Ly­dia Rose, Ruth Mar­garet and Calvin Paul DesRoches and Owen Ge­orge Red­den; as well as many nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides her par­ents, Ruth was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Ge­orge; daugh­ter, Judy Anne (in in­fancy); broth­ers, Ralph, Roy, Earl and Rus­sell; sis­ters, Blanche, El­iz­a­beth, Verna, Pearl, Shirley, Edith, Ma­bel and Marie. The fam­ily wishes to ac­knowl­edge the staff at Dyke­land Lodge for their ex­cep­tional care given to Ruth dur­ing her stay. Ar­range­ments were en­trusted to DeMont Fam­ily Fu­neral Home & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice, 419 Al­bert St., Wind­sor (902798-8317),

niece, Carol. Be­sides her par­ents and sib­lings, Grace was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Fred­er­ick M. Archibald; son, Lau­rie Archibald and son-in-law, Neil Moore. The fam­ily would like to ex­tend their grat­i­tude to Car­rie and Staff at the R.E.A.L. Care Home for the com­pas­sion and care given to Grace dur­ing her stay with them. Ar­range­ments were en­trusted to DeMont Fam­ily Fu­neral Home & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice, 419 Al­bert St., Wind­sor (902-798-8317). There was no visitation by re­quest. Fu­neral ser­vice was held at 2 p.m. Satur­day, Novem­ber 3, in Wind­sor United Church, 613 King St., Wind­sor, Rev. David Hann of­fi­ci­ated. Pri­vate fam­ily in­ter­ment im­me­di­ately fol­lowed in Maple­wood Ceme­tery, Wind­sor. A re­cep­tion was held in the Church An­nex. Fa­ther John MacPher­son of­fi­ci­ated. Pri­vate fam­ily in­ter­ment took place im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing in Maple­wood Ceme­tery, Wind­sor. A re­cep­tion was held in the Parish Hall.
