‘A critical time of year for food banks’
RCMP Stuff a Cruiser fundraiser aims to stock Windsor’s food bank shelves
Windsor RCMP officers are hoping the annual Stuff a Cruiser campaign will help fill the food bank’s shelves this Christmas.
Staff Sgt. Cory Bushell, the district commander of the Windsor RCMP detachment, said RCMP officers and Victim Services volunteers will set up at the Sobeys in Windsor on Dec. 8 for the fundraiser. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., people are invited to stop by the Empire Lane location to help stock the shelves of the Matthew 25 Windsor and District Food Bank.
“This is always a critical time of year for food banks as we’re approaching the holidays,” said Bushell.
While they don’t have a set goal in mind in terms of how many non-perishable food items they’d like to donate, he said they hope people give generously. and stews)
