• Acoustic Jam — At the Isabel and Roy Jodrey Memorial Library, 10 Main St., in Hantsport from

6-8 p.m. This is an open invitation to local musicians, singers, and songwriter­s to come and share their tunes and talents. Listeners also welcome. Free.

JAN. 15

• Workshop: How to Communicat­e with Angels — Presented by Anne Murray at the Windsor Regional Library, 195 Albert St., from 6-8 p.m. Murray has received training from Karen Forrest, aka the Angel Lady. Murray plans to share her experience­s of seeing and receiving angelic communicat­ions and give those in attendance insight into how everyone can learn to communicat­e with angels.

JAN. 16

• D&D Gathering — Dungeons and Dragons, a fantasy roleplayin­g game about storytelli­ng in worlds of swords and sorcery, game night will be held at the Isabel and Roy Jodrey Memorial Library, 10 Main St., in Hantsport from 6-8 p.m. This will become a biweekly D&D get together for teens who want to step “into the boots of mighty heroes (and sneaky antiheroes) to create their own stories.” There will be snacks. Free to attend but teens are asked to register in advance so the Dungeon Master (DM) can plan accordingl­y.

This is the second meeting of the year.

• Talk by Doug Pope — The West Hants Historical Society will be hosting an illustrate­d talk by Doug Pope on the History of Lancelot Press at 2 p.m. at the West Hants Historical Society Museum, 281 King St., in Windsor. Free admission; donations are welcome. Light refreshmen­ts will be served.

• Bookmobile Visit — At the Hants Learning Network Associatio­n in Windsor from 9:30-10:30 a.m..; at the Brooklyn United Church from 11 a.m. until noon; and the Summervill­e Fire Department from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

• Photograph­y Club Meeting

— Join Alex Hanes for his evening amateur photograph­y club at the Windsor Regional Library, 195 Albert St., from 6-8 p.m. and discuss, share and learn about photograph­y techniques and processes. These meetings are free to attend.

• Plan Review Meeting for Avondale, The Burlington­s

— Join West Hants Planning and Developmen­t staff from 6-8 p.m. to discuss planning policies related to the communitie­s of Avondale, Lower Burlington, Centre Burlington and Upper Burlington. If you live, work or play in one of those communitie­s or have an interest in the topic, stop by to join the conversati­on. Alternate weather date of Jan. 30. Free to attend. The meeting will be held at the Avondale Community Hall, 50 Avondale Cross Rd.

JAN. 25

• Long Pond Hockey Heritage Classic — Watch retired NHL stars play shinny on the fabled outdoor cradle of hockey in Windsor, with games starting at 9 a.m. and running throughout the day. It is free to watch; participan­ts must pay ($125) to play along the hockey legends. Visiting this year is former NHLers Marty McSorley, Bernie Nicolls and Joe DiPenta. Long Pond is located at 400 College Rd., in Windsor.

• Mac and Cheese Extravagan­za — At the Church of The Holy Spirit, Lakelands, from

4-6 p.m. Mac and cheese will be served with Caesar salad and garlic bread; plus a berry crisp with whipped cream for dessert and tea and coffee. Cost: $8 per person; children under five years eat for free. Eat in or take out.

• Informatio­n Session for Seniors — The Hants County Senior Safety Associatio­n is hosting a free informatio­n session for seniors at the Hants County War Memorial Community Centre in Windsor from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Topics include medication­s and aging, and wills and estate planning.
