Lori Mahar had been playing her own lottery numbers for such a long time that she wasn't sure if her computergenerated guaranteed prize draw numbers were a winner.

“I had my laptop in my hand, and the ticket was laying on it,” Mahar said in a June 23 news release.

“I was using my husband's little magnifier and kept looking at it, thinking, ‘This can't be right.'”

Atlantic Lottery said in the release that Mahar has been playing the same numbers for 35 years.

However, she won $1 million from the May 31 Lotto 6/49 draw on the 10-digit computer-generated number included on every Lotto 6/49 ticket.

“My husband asked my daughter to get an Insta Pik ticket for him and I said, ‘If you get any tickets, I want one with our regular numbers too.” Mahar said.

“So, he got his Insta Pik, I got our regular numbers and I won a million dollars and now he's going to wait for me to dish over some cash.”

Mahar said they plan to use the money to make life more comfortable and purchase a house.

“We've been renting, and we need a wheelchair-accessible home, which is hard to find in rentals,” Mahar said.

“So, we're going to buy a home that suits us and our needs,” she added.

The family is also looking forward to celebrating with family and friends now that COVID-19 restrictions are beginning to ease.
