FINED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING
Joshua Robert Philip Diggins, 25, of Beaverbank, has been fined for having a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours after ceasing to operate a conveyance.
Diggins pleaded guilty to the charge on Feb. 15. Judge Alan Tufts fined Diggins $1,000 and imposed a one-year driving prohibition against him.
Diggins committed the offence in Greenwich on Oct. 9, 2021. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Diggins gave a blood alcohol reading of 90.
A charge of operating a conveyance while his ability to do so was impaired to any degree by alcohol or a drug or both was withdrawn on Feb. 15.
CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Kaleigh Ann Farrell, 20, of Wolfville, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation after pleading guilty to three drug possession charges. They include unlawfully possessing methamphetamine; unlawfully possessing cocaine and unlawfully possessing alprazolam.
Farrell was originally charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking but pleaded guilty to the lesser, included offence of possession on all three charges on Nov. 26, 2021. The matters were adjourned to Feb. 11 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.
Judge Claudine MacDonald handed Farrell a conditional discharge with 12 months of non-reporting probation on the three charges.
Farrell committed the offences in Garlands Crossing on Nov. 1, 2020. Charges of possessing morphine for the purpose of trafficking and possessing oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking were dismissed on Feb. 11.
CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR ASSAULT
Kimberly Ann Whitney,
24, of New Minas, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for committing an assault.
Whitney pleaded guilty to the charge on Dec. 7, 2021. The matter was adjourned to Feb. 10 to allow time for a presentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.

Matthew Allan Scotney, 50, of Kingston, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for committing an assault.
Scotney pleaded guilty to the charge on Feb. 15. Judge Alan Tufts handed Scotney a conditional discharge with nine months of probation.
