COMMITTED MISCHIEF, UNDERTAKIN­G, PROBATION OFFENCES

Jesse Michael Harris, 31, of no fixed address, has been sentenced to time deemed served and probation after pleading guilty to three offences.

They include committing mischief by willfully damaging an individual’s property to a value not exceeding $5,000; failing to comply with a condition of an undertakin­g, not to attend a certain address and to not communicat­e with an individual; and failing to comply with a condition of a probation order, to not possess any non-prescribed drugs.

Harris pleaded guilty to the charges on Dec. 13, 2023. The matters were adjourned to March 12 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. Judge Claudine MacDonald sentenced Harris to one day in custody deemed served and 12 months of probation on the three charges.

Harris committed the offences in Kentville on April 29 and May 6, 2023.

ASSAULT LEADS TO CONDITIONA­L DISCHARGE

Christian Ferguson, 33, of Hacketts Cove, has been handed a conditiona­l discharge with probation for committing an assault.

Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 22, 2023. The matter was adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.

On March 19, Judge Angela Caseley handed Ferguson a conditiona­l discharge with one year of probation. The court granted a standalone restitutio­n order for $1,169.85 for property damage caused to the Super 8 Hotel in Windsor.

Ferguson committed the offence in Windsor on Dec. 24, 2022. Charges of uttering a death threat via text message and committing mischief by willfully damaging the property of the Super 8 Hotel to a value not exceeding $5,000 were dismissed on March 19.

CONDITIONA­L DISCHARGE FOR FAILING TO COMPLY

Christophe­r Rumbolt, 28, of no fixed address, has been handed a conditiona­l discharge with probation after pleading guilty to three charges.

They include failing to comply with a condition of an undertakin­g, to have no contact with an individual and to not attend a certain address; failing to attend court in accordance with an appearance notice; and failing to comply with a condition of a release order, to refrain from having any direct or indirect contact or communicat­ion with an individual.

Rumbolt changed his pleas to guilty on March 18. Judge Angela Caseley handed Rumbolt a conditiona­l discharge with nine months of probation on the three charges.

Rumbolt committed the offences in Hantsport on Nov. 28, 2021; in Windsor on May 17, 2022; and in Falmouth on Aug. 7, 2022. A charge of assault was dismissed on March 18.

IMPAIRED DRIVING LEADS TO FINE

Sarah Jean Jacobs, 33, of New Minas, has been fined for having a blood alcohol concentrat­ion that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours of ceasing to operate a conveyance.

Jacobs pleaded guilty to the charge on March 20. Judge Paul Scovil fined Jacobs $2,000 and imposed a one-year driving prohibitio­n against her.

Jacobs committed the offence in New Minas on June 30, 2023. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Jacobs gave blood alcohol readings of 210 and 200.

FINED FOR DRUG IMPAIRED DRIVING

Mason William Bird, 21, of Kentville, has been fined for having a blood drug concentrat­ion that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit for a drug prescribed by regulation within two hours of ceasing to operate a conveyance.

Bird pleaded guilty to the charge on March 20. Judge Paul Scovil fined Bird $1,250 and imposed a one-year driving prohibitio­n against him.

Bird committed the offence in Kentville on Sept. 6, 2022.
