Though space exploration might sound more exciting than accounting, Crosby has high hopes to make his cloud-based bookkeeping software just as sexy. The UBC grad is well on the way to achieving his goal with his start-up, Bench, whose relaxed tech-company air and killer branding secured him a place on Forbes’s Top 30 Under 30 list this year. Mayor Gregor Robertson stopped by Bench for advice on how to support small businesses, and with over $30 million of venture capital to play with, Crosby’s sights are set on continued growth—the company recently acquired a new 55,000-squarefoot o ce space occupying three oors in Telus Garden.
