Creeping acceptability of torture offends our humanity

-

Re: Data obtained by torture can be used, minister rules, Feb. 8

I am appalled that our federal government has taken the position that they would use information obtained by torture.

It is understood that information obtained by torture is, at best, very unreliable. BRUCE HOLVICK North Delta

We hear through our Public Safety Minister Vic Toews that even concerns about Canadian “property” are more important than maintaining our humanity through an explicit and unqualified repudiation of torture and its results.

Surely we do not want to take even a single step down this road.

Canadians must vote this party out at the first opportunity, and never again give anyone of their ilk the reigns of power in our country. GREG DEPACO New Westminster
