Barr and Goodman to reunite for new series

Roseanne and Dan Conner are coming back to TV — sort of. In fact, it’s the actors who played the couple on the hit television show Roseanne — John Goodman and Roseanne Barr — who are re- teaming for a new series. Barr has a new NBC sitcom in the works called Downwardly Mobile. The series was co- created by Barr, her boyfriend John Argent and former Roseanne executive producer Eric Gilliand, who will also serve as showrunner. On Friday, Deadline Hollywood reported that Goodman was in final negotiations to star alongside Barr. In Downwardly Mobile, Barr will play the owner of a mobile home park and mother- figure to its unique residents, with Goodman is poised to star as a one of the park’s employees. Goodman co- starred in this year’s Oscar- nominated film The Artist, and was part of the cable drama Damages’ fourth season. He has several movies in the works, including the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis.
