Darkroom ... or digital

The darkroom was the place where, for most of the past century, photographs were developed before they were published in the paper. The images were printed in miniature on “contact sheets,” from which the best photographs would be selected, printed, then cropped for production. The Sun was the first newsroom in the country to go digital, allowing photographers to take multiple photos, judge the quality immediately and submit images electronically.
