Toy department

A derogatory term for the sports department, due to the fact sports reporters concern themselves with games rather than “serious” news like politics and the economy. Sports reporters don’t seem to take it too personally ( except on election nights, when staff are rewarded with pizza for producing stories on exceptionally tight deadlines, which sports writers do every game night). Besides, just as parents wouldn’t deny their kids toys, travelling budgets for hockey seem safe even during cutbacks.
