Murder victim identified, charge laid in earlier homicide
Homicide investigators probing two separate Abbotsford murders announced developments in both cases Wednesday.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed that a 31- yearold Edmonton gangster has been identified as the murder victim found in an Abbotsford field Feb. 19.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound said investigators confirmed the body was that of Jimmy Chau. Investigators are trying to determine how long Chau had been in B. C. and who he might have been with before his death.
Meanwhile a charge of seconddegree murder has been laid in Abbotsford’s first murder of 2012.
Pound announced that 26- year- old local resident, Shayne Vauthrin, has made his first appearance in the January murder of Ryan Saint- Ange.
