THIS WEEK IN WHISTLER

What’s there to do?

-

When the kids complain that there is nothing to do this spring break, why not take the family up the Sea to Sky for a few days of non- stop family fun in Whistler

Snow School packages are available for children of all ages and ability levels. They are a great way for children and adults to experience Whistler Blackcomb.

Once on the hills, kids will want to explore the Magic Castle on Blackcomb and the hidden tree fort on Whistler. The Coca- Cola Tube Park also offers great fun for the whole family. The park has a state-of-the- art conveyor lift makes traveling to the top a breeze.

Ziptrek is most likely the number one non- ski activity in Whistler and a thrill for kids of all ages. This fun and educational experience offers discounts for 6 - 14 year olds when accompanied by a regular priced adult. To make things even more exciting this year, Ziptrek has combined one of their Ecotours with a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola to deliver an ultimate sightseeing experience.

Dogsledding has had a tough go for a while, but this wonderful activity is making a

comeback. The Whistler Sled Dog Company is a non-profit foundation that puts the dogs first. They are dedicated to the promotion and advancement of animal welfare. The animals are loved and well treated, and their tours are a delight for both children and parents. Whistler Sled Dog Company operates in one of the most spectacular wilderness settings in the world, but it’s the dogs that you will remember forever. Although not quite for kids, the Whistler sliding Centre offers those 1 plus the

chance to experience the thrill of a lifetime — a run on a public skeleton slide or bobsleigh ride. Even those under 1 can take part in a range of family activities that include free facility tours and slide viewing.

The skating rink at Whistler Olympic Plaza is the best spot in town for young children. The skating is free and they offer skate rentals and helmets so anyone can lace up. Other family friendly activities offering great deals for spring break are snowmobiling cross- country skiing,

snowshoeing and horse drawn sleigh rides.

At the end of your visit, where else but Whistler could you have performers entertain you with an electric mix of music, dance and spinning re The Fire and Ice Show is free and performed at 6: 30 PM every Sunday in Skier’s Plaza at the base of Whistler Mountain.

So. If the kid’s tell you there is nothing to do, take them to Whistler.
