Appointment Notice
Michael E. Moore, President and CEO of GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Davies to Chief Financial Officer effective June 4, 2012.
Chris brings a strong, solid perspective to GCT’S financial group with his experience in managing complex capital structure, securing financing, and managing the areas of tax, treasury, and insurance. He will be responsible for the strategic leadership and direction for Global Container Terminals’ financial activities and governance for both the U. S. and Canada.
Chris is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Finance at Macdonald, Dettwiler and Associates, one of Canada’s largest technology companies.
In addition to his CA designation and more than 25 years financial experience, Mr. Davies holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. He has served on the boards of a number of associations as well as being a member of several technical advisory committees for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. ( GCT) is a wholly- owned subsidiary of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. The Company operates four container terminals through three principal businesses in North America: TSI Terminal Systems Inc. in Vancouver and Delta, British Columbia; New York Container Terminal on Staten Island, New York; and Global Terminal & Container Services in Bayonne, New Jersey. In Canada, TSI is the largest container terminal operator in the country and provides service for more than 75% of the containerized cargo that moves through Port Metro Vancouver at Vanterm in the inner harbour and Deltaport at Roberts Bank.
