Rihanna misses flight to U. K., but denies she’s sick

- Leah Collins/ Postmedia News

Where have you been, Rihanna — and what has the pop star been doing to herself? RiRi was supposed to start a 10- week U. K. visit Wednesday — an itinerary that reportedly included a stint working on a Sky TV program, plus a few music festival dates. According to U. K.’ s Sun, however, RiRi missed her flight, effectively scuttling her work trip the same day it was meant to begin. “She cancelled her trip and all work commitments in the U. K. at the very last minute, which is very unlike her,” a source told the Sun. “She has been hitting it hard for months. She smokes, drinks and parties hard on top of work commitments.” And though the paper reported Rih’s management was pulling her out due to “sickness,” the pop star is still shipshape enough to rant about the news. “Nonsense! I’m not sick!” she tweeted Thursday. “I pushed my trip to London back to go spend time with my family!” she wrote in another tweet responding to the Sun report. “Sorry kiddos.” According to NME, it appears Rihanna’s July 8 headlining spot at London’s O2 Wireless Festival is unaffected, despite her switched- up travel plans. ( Rihanna’s also booked to play the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Hackney.) Glad to hear she’s healthy and happy. Because reports about the pop star these last few weeks have suggested there might be something the matter with her. It was just last month, you’ll recall, that Rihanna tweeted a photo of her arm hooked up to an IV drip. The pic led to speculation she’d cracked from exhaustion. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, she was just enjoying a morning- after vitamin drip.
