Sun columnist honoured for writings on spirituality
Vancouver Sun columnist Douglas Todd has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Vancouver School of Theology “in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of journalism pertaining to subjects of spirituality and religion.”
The school noted that Todd was raised in a family of staunch atheists, but has become one of the most decorated writers on spirituality and ethics in North America, winning several awards and scholarships for his work.
His Vancouver Sun blog, The Search, has been cited as an “editor’s selection” by The New York Times.
Todd will receive his Doctor of Divinity Certificate on May 6 at the Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church.
