New NDP candidate in Kelowna- Mission
The B. C. NDP has announced that a longtime social justice advocate will be its new candidate in Kelowna- Mission, a day after its previous candidate resigned over online comments involving compensation for First Nations. Tish Lakes, an executive director of a Kelowna non- profit society that provides legal advocacy for renters and those on social assistance, is the new candidate. On Tuesday, the Liberals called for the resignation of Dayleen Van Ryswyk. New Democratic leader Adrian Dix quickly accepted the resignation of Van Ryswyk just hours into the campaign. Van Ryswyk announced Wednesday she will run as an independent.
