Would you like a ( North American) tour? Drake says yes

-

Fresh off his award- winning surprise appearance at the MuchMusic Video Awards in his hometown, hip- hop artist Drake is embarking on a 41- city North American arena tour.

Cleverly named Would You Like a Tour? it will support a new album, Nothing Was The Same, expected later this year.

The Toronto hip- hop artist, producer and actor — who first found success playing Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation — won hip- hop video of the year for Started From the Bottom at Sunday’s MMVA event. The video also won the award for director of the year.

Drake’s tour, coming to Vancouver Sept. 27 at Rogers Arena, will feature Grammy- winning R& B artist Miguel and also feature some special guests including rapper Future.

The tour announcement follows the release of the single Started From The Bottom, which has landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Drake has since released two more songs, 5AM in Toronto and Girls Love Beyoncé, directly to fans online via OctobersVeryOwn. net. Drake’s career is on a meteoric rise. Nothing Was The Same follows the multi- platinum Take Care ( Young Money/ Cash Money/ Universal Republic), which earned Drake his first Grammy for best rap album and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in 2011.

Drake’s full- length album debut, 2010’ s Thank Me Later, also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart the week it was released. That album earned Drake several Grammy nominations, including best new artist, best rap album and best rap solo performance.

Miguel hit the mainstream in 2010 with the single All I Want Is You from his major label debut album of the same name.

The album also features Sure Thing, which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s HipHop/ R& B chart and his second U. S. No. 1 Quickie.

Miguel followed up on the success of his debut album with Kaleidoscope Dream, which features his third U. S. No. 1 hit single, Adorn.

In 2013, Miguel was nominated for five Grammys. Lead single Adorn garnered his first Grammy win for best R& B song and was in the No. 1 spot on the R& B/ Hip- Hop Airplay chart for more than 23 weeks.
