BIG WEEKEND FOR CAR FANS
No fewer than 18 B. C. communities are hosting car shows or races this weekend. On the show front, there’s a handful of perennial favourites, including the Galaxie Club show, the Kilby show, the Mopar show at the George Preston Arena in Langley and the Classy Caddy show outside of Victoria.
Competition is also heating up, with drag racing in Mission and the Sports Car Club of BC using the road course there on Saturday and Sunday.
I have to mention the Door Warz racing at Mission last weekend. One of the fans told me that a fellow was running a Ford engine banned from the NHRA but we got to see it pound down the track. My buddy Terry Denomme of Canadian Hot Rods ran his ’ 57 Ford Sedan Delivery in the very low 11s.
