Adam Bighill’s Rides

-

FIRST CAR

“It was my mom’s, a 1994 Mazda B4000 4x4 pickup truck. It was a manual and I had a lot of fun in it.” An added bonus was he could also put his sweaty football gear in the box to air it out. “Always had a lot of dirty stuff to throw in the back.”

NEXT CARS

“When I went to college and still had a love for cars. I always liked the Subaru WRX, and since I was able to work during college a little bit, I managed to buy one with a loan that I paid off in three years. That was a fun little car to rip around in.” The fact it was all- wheel drive helped too — when Bighill visited home from Central Washington University, the 300- kilometre trip from Ellensburg to Montesano went over the Snoqualmie Pass. “Four by fours in the ditch, and I’m just cruising.” After the WRX, “I wanted to get the upgrade version, the WRX STi,” which he did in his second year as a pro with the Lions.

CURRENT CARS

“I’ve still got the STi, and I just got a 2013 Lexus RX450h, hybrid. It’s real sweet, with all the bells and whistles.”

DREAM CAR

“Well, my dream car had always been the STi. But I’ve always wanted to build a muscle car. Something like a Challenger, Chevelle or Camaro. My friends back home have all done it and they could definitely help me out.” “I went to the ( Vancouver) auto show this year — I’d never been to an auto show — and saw some amazing cars, like the McLaren. So maybe that would be my dream car, the McLaren or one of those type of supercars.”
