RCMP launches search for overdue plane
Search- and- rescue officials are combing an area near Kamloops after a young pilot on a solo flight aboard a Cessna 172 failed to return as expected. The Mounties say the plane left the airport in Kamloops at about 10: 30 a. m. on Tuesday, but hasn’t been seen since. The coast guard has dispatched a Buffalo searchandrescue plane and a Cormorant helicopter to help look for the missing aircraft northwest of Kamloops Lake. Few other details have been released. David Cruz of TylAir Aviation, a Kamloops- based flight school, says the pilot is an experienced student with more than 60 hours of flying time.
