For the fifth year running, the CBC Vancouver will be hosting its Toque Sessions concert series at the CBC Broadcast Centre on Hamilton Street.

This year’s lineup, which will grace the stage between Jan. 23 and Feb. 28, reads like a buzz list from Vancouver’s music scene, with a few national names thrown in. The series kicks off at the end of January with Hayley and Jess Moskaluke on Jan. 23, followed by The Belle Game ( Jan. 24), Murray Porter ( Jan. 30), and Vancouver heavy metal faves Anciients ( Jan. 31).

In February, folk- stompers Good For Grapes ( Feb. 6), violinist and singer- songwriter Hannah Epperson ( Jan. 7), The Harpoonist and The Axe Murderer ( Feb. 13), country- rockers Blackie and the Rodeo Kings ( Feb. 14), Said The Whale ( Feb. 20), Dean Brody ( Feb. 21) and the Dan Brubeck Quartet ( Feb. 27) will grace the CBC stage.

The series wraps on Feb. 28 with a performance by Hannah Georgas and Mother Mother’s Ryan Guldemond.

All the concerts are free on a firstcome, first- seated basis. Rush lines begin at 6: 30 p. m. each night.

“CBC Vancouver’s Toque Sessions is one of the city’s local gems,” Johnny Michel, senior managing director of CBC British Columbia and Alberta, said in a press release. “Not only are the weekly concerts opportunities to get out and experience a terrific free evening with friends and family, but concertgoers are treated to some of the best and diverse Canadian musical talent this country has to offer.”
