Jepsen settles suit with Alabama singer

Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen has settled a contentious lawsuit with an Alabama singer who claims the B. C.- born pop star stole her song for Jepsen’s song Good Time. RadarOnline is reporting that Ally Burnett — who co- wrote and sang the theme for MTV series The Seven — alleged Jepsen and the band Owl City “borrowed” her “catchy pop vibe that both draws people in and sticks in people’s heads.” Burnett said the material in question was on her 2010 release Ah, It’s A Love Song. Owl City is still trying to fight off Burnett, Radar said. Burnett and Jepsen made a private deal, the website said. It said that while the amount Jepsen paid Burnett is unknown, more than $ 967,185 in royalties have been put in a trust account for when there is a settlement.

Jackson abused pet chimp, Goodall says

Primate expert Jane Goodall says pop star Michael Jackson abused his famed pet chimpanzee, Bubbles. Goodall — one of the world’s leading experts on primates — says Bubbles was brutalized at Jackson’s Neverland compound and she blames the Billie Jean singer. She told TMZ she confronted Jackson and it “ticked him off.” La Toya Jackson’s ex- husband, Jack Gordon, backed up Goodall’s story. “I saw Michael punch Bubbles, kick him in the stomach,” Gordon said. “Michael used to say, ‘ He doesn’t feel it. He’s a chimpanzee. I have to discipline him.’ ” Bubbles outlived Jackson, who died in 2009. Now 30, the chimp lives in a Florida animal sanctuary.
