Show suites designed with gender in mind

-

The doors have opened to two new sharply outfitted show homes at the Remix project in North Vancouver.

Both are the work of interior designer Danielle Nicole Lareau of Giraffe Design.

In the suite imagined for a female occupant, Lareau contrasted a crisp white design with pops of red.

“White is a strong colour in fashion right now, but in a city like Vancouver where it’s mostly grey and overcast, an all- white room runs the risk of being too flat,” Lareau says.

“You really need brighter, vibrant shades to contrast the white and give the room a splash of colour, just like a scarf adds visual interest to an otherwise neutral outfit.”

Lareau designed the second suite to have more of a more masculine appeal. It features shades of gold and silver, with warm colours and natural wood finishes.

The homes in Remix, a 60- unit project from Adera now nearing completion just off SW Marine Drive, blend West Coast Modern architecture with open layouts and luxurious finishes. Residents of the four- storey building — three levels of residential above a ground- floor commercial space — will be but a stroll away from shops and amenities.

Remaining homes are priced from the $ 290,000s.

The Remix presentation centre is located at 220 — 733 West 14th St., and open daily from noon to 5 p. m. For more information, visit adera. com or call 604- 924- 4488.
