Island owner drops lawsuit against protesters
The owner of a controversial island in Ganges harbour, where a luxury home is being built over a First Nations burial site, has dropped a trespassing lawsuit against protesters.
Barry Slawsky, an Edmontonbased businessman, said that he was dropping his request for a no- trespassing injunction on Grace Islet, off Saltspring Island. He filed the court action on Sept. 18. He said if trespassing does occur, he will initiate a new lawsuit.
