About a Boy: Inspired by the same- named Nick Hornby novel and Hugh Grant movie, the comedy series starts its second season with About a Vasectomy. Despite that title, Will’s ( David Walton) concerns in the tale are largely about his finances, which seem to go up and down almost simultaneously. ( NBC, Global — 9: 30 p. m.) The Honourable Woman: In the new episode The Ribbon Cutter, Ephra and Rachel ( Andrew Buchan, Katherine Parkinson) celebrate the birth of their daughter, while Anjelica Hayden- Hoyle ( Lindsay Duncan) rips into her husband ( Stephen Rea) for his cowardice on the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. Nessa ( Maggie Gyllenhaal) travels to the West Bank to unveil the university funded by her foundation. ( CBC — 9 p. m.)

Marvel’s Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D.: Coulson ( Clark Gregg) finds himself under attack from a very unexpected assailant — May ( Ming- Na Wen) — in the new episode Face My Enemy. With her physical acumen, he has reason to worry whether he’ll survive the mission he’s on. The other agents also face danger that could literally blow up in their faces. ( ABC, CTV — 9 p. m.) Seeing Kelsey Grammer on Partners has made me wonder what his former TV “brother” David Hyde Pierce is up to. Does he plan to return to television? — John Barton Extremely soon, in fact, and on a series many people are familiar with. He’s one of the latest talents to sign up for a recurring part on CBS’s The Good Wife, and during Season 6 he’ll play a newscaster who decides to run for political office.
