The Canucks scored first and won wire-to-wire, responding to a late 6-on-5 Red Wings goal with a pair of empty-netters by Henrik Sedin in a 4-1 victory. Vancouver goalie Ryan Miller made 29 saves and was excellent, as were Canuck special teams. Alex Edler and Radim Vrbata scored for a power play that went 2-for-4, and Vancouver held Detroit’s No. 3-ranked power play to 0-for-3. The win nudged the Canucks two points clear of the playoff cutoff.
