Agent Carter is on the case
Marvel’s Agent Carter: The title character has turned up in other Marvel projects, including television’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Captain America movies, and now — still played by Hayley Atwell — she gets her own vehicle with the premiere of this series. After the Second World War, she’s enlisted by Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) to clear him of charges of selling lethal weapons on the black market. (ABC, CTV — 8 p.m.)
Gold Rush: Fan favourite Parker Schnabel is involved in a head-on collision that totals his car. Elsewhere, Tony Beets finally starts to work rebuilding his gold-mining dredge, and the rock trucks of the Hoffman crew go head-tohead on a very dangerous hauling road. (Discovery — 6 & 9 p.m.)
Royal Pains: Season 6 of the hit dramedy opens with Smoke and Mirrors, which finds Hank (Mark Feuerstein) returning to the Hamptons after travelling the world for nine months, only to discover HankMed has moved on without him. Not comfortable in the new arrangement, he must find a way to fit in. (Showcase — 7 p.m.)
