Vancouver dancer vying for love on ABC Bachelor series

A Vancouver dance instructor is one of the hot tamales vying for the heart of 2015’s first bachelor on ABC’s reality TV series.

Kaitlyn Bristowe, 29, with five tattoos and a love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, grew up in Leduc, a small town south of Edmonton, before recently moving to Vancouver to teach dance, according to news website Inquisitr.

She is one of this season’s bachelorettes looking to hook up with Chris Soules, a farmer in Iowa. The new Bachelor season began Monday night.

In her ABC profile, Bristowe said her greatest achievement was getting a dance scholarship that took her away from her small town to the big city. As such, if she ever won the lottery, she said she would use the money to pay back her parents for all her dance lessons, “buy an island and make it into a land of pirates. It would be called Yarrland.”

Bristowe said if she could be a fictional character, she would want to be April O’Neil, the Ninja Turtles comics character who is close friends with turtles Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo.

“She gets to hang out with the Ninja Turtles and she’s a babe,” explained Bristowe.

The Inquisitr website noted that Bristowe may be the “one to watch” on Season 19 of The Bachelor.

“However, most would say that from the looks of things, she doesn’t seem all that likely to be ready to embrace a quiet life as the wife of a farmer in Iowa,” the story reads.

It says she’s close to her family and loves being an aunt. But she “definitely has a snarky side and enjoys a good party.”
