WHO’S NEXT FOR THE CANUCKS

Canucks vs. Jets

- Elliott Pap, Vancouver Sun

RECENT FORM

The Canucks have lost three of their last four and are 1-4-0 in their last five at Rogers Arena, the lone victory coming Friday over the hapless Buffalo Sabres, above. In their four home losses, the Canucks have been outscored 12-3, been shut out twice and their power play has gone 0-for-13. The Jets, who played Monday night in Calgary, had lost three straight by a combined score of 15-7.

WHO’S HOT?

Not many on the Canucks are. Chris Higgins has three points in his last four games. Rookie Bo Horvat has three points in his last five. The line of Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin and Radim Vrbata has combined for six points in the last two games. Jets captain Andrew Ladd, above, had six points in six games (2-4-6) and 15 points in his last 14 games before Monday’s outing in Calgary.

WHO’S NOT?

In his last four starts, Ryan Miller has allowed 11 goals in the last 89 shots faced for a save percentage of .876. … Zack Kassian has no goals in 21 games. … The Canucks’ power play is 2-for-23 in the last six games. … Jets winger Blake Wheeler had one goal in nine games before Monday’s game in Calgary. … Mark Scheifele, above, had one goal in 19 games prior to Calgary.

HEAD TO HEAD

This is the first of three meetings between the teams. Last season, the Canucks won twice — the second by shootout — and lost once. Eddie Lack was the goalie of record in all three games while Ondrej Pavelec played all three for the Jets. Alex Burrows, above, who scored only five goals in last year’s injuryriddled campaign, had two of them against the Jets, both coming in the same game March 12.

QUOTABLE

“Winnipeg is fighting for a playoff spot, too. They are in the same boat as us and a lot of other teams. In the Western Conference, if each and every guy doesn’t bring it every night, we’re going to be an average team and that’s not good enough in the race we’re in right now.” — Canucks winger Daniel Sedin, above, on facing the Jets and trying to establish something on the six-game homestand (1-2-0 so far).
